Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Ugandan Chief of Defence Forces and son of President Yoweri Museveni, has sparked fresh online controversy after reiterating his public desire to marry American music star Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.

The military leader took to his verified X page to declare that he would stage a solo protest at Kampala’s City Square to show his affection for the Grammy-winning artiste, despite her 18-year marriage to hip-hop mogul Jay-Z.

In the social media posts, which have since been deleted, Kainerugaba stated that the demonstration would be titled the “I’m here Beyoncé” protest.

“If Beyoncé doesn’t even know me, I’m going to mount a 1-man demonstration at City Square,” Kainerugaba wrote.

In a separate post, the general issued a one-week ultimatum to Jay-Z to “surrender” his wife, threatening to report the situation to the United Nations if his demands were ignored.

“I’m giving Jay-Z one week to surrender my wife to me. Or else I take this matter to the UN,” he added.

This is not the first time the Ugandan army chief has publicly targeted the celebrity couple. Last year, Kainerugaba posted a series of messages claiming that Jay-Z had married his woman and challenged the American rapper to a physical fight in Uganda.

Neither Beyoncé nor Jay-Z has responded to the general’s public statements.

Kainerugaba, who is widely considered a potential successor to his father’s presidency, is well-known for using his social media platforms to make unconventional and provocative claims that frequently spark diplomatic and public debates.
