Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governorship candidate in Edo State, has called on party members to close ranks and work together, declaring that APC remains greater than any individual ambition.

Speaking in a statement on Monday following the conclusion of the APC Edo South Senatorial Primary held on 18 May 2026, Ize-Iyamu accepted the outcome of the exercise and urged his supporters to embrace the party’s decision in the interest of unity and victory in the general election.

“The APC is greater than any individual ambition. It is a platform built on service, sacrifice, discipline, and our shared commitment to a better future for our people.

“Political contests may test our preferences, but they must never diminish our common purpose,” Ize-Iyamu said.

He thanked party leaders, supporters, women, youths, coordinators, volunteers, grassroots mobilisers and Nigerians in the diaspora for their unwavering support throughout his senatorial aspiration, describing their loyalty, sacrifices and prayers as a source of strength.

“I accept the decision of our party in good faith and appeal to all our members, followers and friends to do the same. Now is the time to reconcile, close ranks and focus on the greater task before us, which is serving the people of Edo South and strengthening our great party,” he stated.

The former APC governorship candidate also assured his supporters at home and in the diaspora of his continued commitment to the development of Edo South, urging them to remain peaceful, reject division, and uphold the values that have always defined the people of the district.

“History will not remember the contest we fought; it will remember the future we built together. Let us unite. Let us serve. Let us win for the APC, for Edo South and for the people of Edo State,” Ize-Iyamu added.
