Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has reportedly ruled out a potential transfer to Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor as he weighs his options ahead of the new season.

The Wolverhampton Wanderers forward is expected to leave Molineux this summer following the club’s relegation from the Premier League, with several European sides monitoring his situation.

Trabzonspor have renewed their long-standing interest in the 25-year-old and are believed to have submitted an official offer to secure his services.

However, according to Sky Sports, Arokodare is not interested in moving to Turkey, with the Nigeria international prioritising a switch to one of Europe’s top five leagues — England, Spain, Italy, Germany or France.

The striker’s preference has opened the door for further negotiations with clubs from Europe’s elite competitions, including Italian Serie A outfit Fiorentina, who have also expressed interest.

Fiorentina made an initial approach for Arokodare last week, but their proposal was rejected by Wolves. The Italian club reportedly wanted to sign the forward on loan, a deal that did not meet the Premier League club’s valuation of the player.

Arokodare joined Wolves with expectations of making an impact in England and remains under contract at Molineux until 2029, with the club holding an option to extend his deal by an additional 12 months.

Despite Wolves’ relegation, the Nigerian forward’s performances have attracted attention, and the club are expected to demand a significant fee before allowing him to leave permanently.

With interest growing from clubs across Europe, Arokodare’s next move is likely to be one of the key transfer stories involving a Nigerian player this summer.
