A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and philanthropist in Gombe State, Engineer Aliyu Muhammad Kombat, has officially collapsed his political structure in support of the party’s 2027 governorship candidate, Dr. Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna, in a move aimed at strengthening the APC ahead of the general elections.
Kombat, founder of the Velocity Humanitarian Foundation announced the endorsement during a meeting with his supporters, party stakeholders, youth groups and community in Gombe.
He said the decision followed extensive consultations with members of his political movement, foundation and community leaders, adding that he was convinced Dr. Gwamna possessed the leadership qualities and vision needed to sustain Gombe’s development.
According to him, the achievements of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya have positioned the APC strongly ahead of the 2027 elections.
“What Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has done for Gombe State is visible to everyone. Even those who are not from Gombe can see the transformation. Because of these achievements, we believe the APC is in a very strong position going into the election,” Kombat said.
Expressing confidence in the party’s chances, he urged APC members to remain united and work collectively to ensure victory at all levels.
Responding, Dr. Gwamna commended Kombat for uniting his supporters behind the party, describing him as a committed grassroots mobiliser and advocate for youth development.
“We appreciate his doggedness in bringing everyone together and for making the youth of our state his priority. Whoever abandons the youth abandons the future of that society. In Kombat, we have found someone who believes in the future of Gombe,” he said.
He pledged to implement policies aimed at job creation, entrepreneurship development, skills acquisition and support for small and medium-scale enterprises to improve livelihoods across the state if elected.
Gwamna also called on party members to remain united in order to secure victory for the APC in the presidential, National Assembly, State Assembly and governorship elections.
He further expressed confidence in Kombat’s ability to mobilise support for the party.
“From today, Engineer Aliyu Kombat is the commander of this struggle. I have confidence in his capacity to mobilise our people and deliver victory for the APC. Insha Allah, he will succeed,” Gwamna added.
Also speaking, the member representing Yamaltu/Deba Federal Constituency, Hon. Inuwa Garba, described the endorsement as a significant boost to the unity and cohesion of the APC in Gombe State.
