Presidential candidate of African Action Congress (AAC) Omoyele Sowore has said the Nigerian police has not learnt any lessons from the EndSARS protest following the recent killing of a lawyer, Omobolanle Raheem.

He added that a system of impunity which leads to the killing of Nigerians must stop.

Omoyele stated this while reacting to the killing of Bolanle, a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA )by a police Assistant Superintendent (ASP).

The incident occurred near the Ajah bridge on Christmas Day as the deceased returned from church.

Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin reacting to the fatal shooting, described the officer’s action as “unfortunate and avoidable”, adding that

“The ASP that shot and two others with him have since been taken into custody. They are to be moved to the SCID for further investigation”, he tweeted.

But Sowore on his twitter handle said, “A trigger happy @policeng officer has taken the life of this innocent lawyer, Omobolanle Raheem, sad that Nigeria police hasn’t learnt any lessons from the #EndSARS uprising.

“A system of impunity that is used to snuffing life out Nigerians must be stopped! #WeCantContinueLikeThis,” he added.
