Carlos Alcaraz has officially entered next month’s Cincinnati Open, signaling his return to competition after a wrist injury sidelined him since April.
The world number three and seven-time Grand Slam champion was forced to withdraw from both the French Open and Wimbledon, missing his title defense at Roland Garros.
He will also skip the Canadian Open in Montreal (2–13 August) but plans to compete in Cincinnati (13–23 August) as a key warm-up for the US Open, where he is the defending champion.
Alcaraz won Cincinnati last year after Jannik Sinner retired from the final due to illness. Sinner, meanwhile, has dominated the Masters 1,000 series this year, winning all five events so far, and will play in Montreal following his second straight Wimbledon victory.
On the British front, Emma Raducanu remains doubtful for the US Open (starting 30 August) after withdrawing from Wimbledon with a stress fracture in her lower leg.
Jack Draper would need a wildcard for Cincinnati, but new British number one Arthur Fery—ranked a career-high No. 36 after his Wimbledon semifinal run—has secured a spot in the main draw.
