2027: Ex-Gombe ADC Chairman Defects To PDP, Backs Pantami’s Governorship Bid

Former Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Gombe State, Hon. Danladi Ya’u, has resigned from the party and defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring support for Professor Isa Ali Pantami’s governorship ambition ahead of the 2027 election.

Ya’u, who currently serves as the ADC State Auditor after previously leading the party in the state, announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the ADC Ward Chairman in Kwadon, Liji, Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Area.

In the letter, he said his resignation takes immediate effect, ending both his position as State Auditor and his membership of the party.

“I hereby formally resign from my position as the former State Chairman and currently serving as State Auditor of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Gombe State Chapter, and also resign my membership of the party with immediate effect,” the letter partly reads.

Ya’u stated that he had joined the PDP to support the governorship candidature of Professor Isa Ali Pantami in the 2027 Gombe State governorship election, describing the former Minister as the candidate best suited to lead the state.

He expressed appreciation to the ADC leadership, State Executive Committee, members and supporters for the opportunity to serve, thanking them for their trust, cooperation and support throughout his time in the party.

The former state chairman also described his years in the ADC as a valuable experience, saying the relationships built and lessons learnt would remain memorable.

He wished the party and its leadership success in their future endeavours.
