Resist Attempt To Demonise APC’s Same-faith Ticket, Bamidele Tells Nigerians

The Senator representing Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Hon. Michael Opeyemi Bamidele has urged Nigerians to resist attempts by some politicians to demonise the same-faith presidential ticket adopted by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Bamidele, who said the 2023 election would be a watershed in the history of electioneering in Nigeria, urged the people to pray fervently for the realisation of APC’s Bola Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima presidency in the next year’s polls.

He said what Nigerians need after President Muhammadu Buhari’s exit is a president who can unite the nation, combat insecurity and bring economic prosperity, saying that Tinubu has such capacity.

He spoke in his Iyin- Ekiti country home after distributing rice and other consumables to the people of Ekiti Central Senatorial District to mark and celebrate the yuletide.

Bamidele said bailing his constituents out of hard-biting poverty and prioritising their welfare will continue to be paramount to him as their representative at the Senate.

The chairman, Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters said making a right choice in Tinubu remains a saving grace for Nigerians to prevent the country from being handed over to inexperienced and callow leaders.

He described Tinubu as a resourceful and result-oriented leader, who can navigate the country out of the travails of insecurity and economic hardship, to a glorious destination, as exemplified with the way he built Lagos into the third largest economies in Africa.

The federal lawmaker urged the Christians not to be deceived from electing Tinubu by desperate and inordinate efforts being made to demonize him for adopting former Borno State Governor and a Muslim, Shettima as his Vice Presidential candidate.

“The 2023 is one election that must be by reality and not by religious fanaticism or ethnic bond. Poverty and insecurity didn’t recognise all these factors. We need a thinker, resourceful and result-oriented leader to turn the country around and not someone that will bring us back to the abyss of corruption.
