Stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State have protested an alleged plan to replace the party’s governorship candidate, Ambassador Umor Suleiman Omarana.

Addressing the protesters in Yola, the Chairman of the Frontier Movement Nationwide, Madu Umar, said they would resist any attempt to influence the party’s governorship ticket, insisting that Ambassador Umor Suleiman Omarana emerged as the party’s candidate through the party’s primary election.

Umar maintained that Ambassador Umor Suleiman Omarana remains the legitimate flag bearer of the ADC in Adamawa State and urged the party’s national leadership to resist what he described as external interference and uphold the outcome of the primary election.

He cautioned that any attempt to substitute the candidate could destabilise the party ahead of the governorship election in Adamawa State and urged stakeholders to respect internal democratic processes.

Also speaking, the party’s Women Leader, Hajiya Aisha Hamidi, said the ADC is well-positioned to win the governorship election in Adamawa State with Ambassador Umor Suleiman Omarana as its candidate.
