The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has commenced a review of the 2026 Hajj and Umrah operations, inviting pilgrims and other stakeholders to submit complaints, comments and recommendations aimed at improving future pilgrimages.

In a statement, the commission said the exercise forms part of its statutory responsibility to regulate, supervise and provide oversight of organisations and bodies involved in coordinating Hajj and Umrah services for Nigerian pilgrims.

NAHCON urged all pilgrims who participated in the 2026 Hajj or Umrah and experienced challenges with services provided by any individual or organisation to formally report their concerns to the Commission for appropriate action.

According to the commission, the feedback would play a crucial role in identifying areas requiring improvement and ensuring better service delivery in subsequent Hajj and Umrah operations.

It added that the complaints and observations received would also influence decisions on the renewal of licences for service providers engaged in the pilgrimage exercise, including tour operators, State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, airlines, cargo companies, caterers and accommodation providers.

Beyond complaints, the commission also encouraged stakeholders and members of the public to submit constructive suggestions that could enhance the planning and management of Hajj and Umrah operations in Nigeria.

NAHCON stressed that all submissions should include the sender’s full address and be directed to the chairman and chief executive officer of the commission.

The commission said the review underscores its commitment to strengthening accountability, improving operational standards and ensuring Nigerian pilgrims receive quality services during future Hajj and Umrah exercises.

The initiative is expected to provide the Commission with valuable insights into the performance of service providers while helping to shape policy decisions ahead of the next pilgrimage season.
