Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke, and the national leadership of the Accord Party(AP)  have endorsed President Bola Tinubu as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.

The endorsement followed a meeting held on Saturday night in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, involving the governor and top officials of the party.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesperson for Adeleke’s re-election campaign.

According to Olajengbesi, the meeting focused on key national and party matters, including the need for continuity in the current administration’s infrastructure agenda.

He said the party’s leadership stressed the importance of allowing the Tinubu administration to complete ongoing legacy projects across the country.

“The leadership of the party said it is important that the Tinubu administration completes all the roads and infrastructure projects it has commenced such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road and the Sokoto-Badagry Highway,” the statement read.

The meeting also reviewed preparations for the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.

Olajengbesi said the Accord Party leadership appealed for a peaceful electoral process, warning against violence, voter intimidation, electoral manipulation and the deployment of security agencies to harass members of the party during the election.

The meeting was also attended by the party’s state chairmen from across the country, alongside other national and state officials.
