40th Council Meeting: Gov Yusuf Bags Multiple Awards For Leadership, Devt Efforts

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has received multiple awards and honours from professional bodies and organisations in recognition of his administration’s contributions to the socio-economic development of the state.

The awards were presented during the 40th Kano State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House in Kano.

In a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, said the honours reflected the recipients’ acknowledgement of Yusuf’s leadership and development initiatives.

Among the organisations that honoured the governor were the Association of Industrial Pharmacists of Nigeria, which presented him with an Award of Excellence, and the Sickle Cell Foundation of Nigeria, which recognised his administration’s efforts to improve the quality of life of persons living with sickle cell disorder.

Other organisations that presented awards included the Kano State Dental Workers Union, National Health Fellows (Cohort 1.0), Kano State Pilots Association, ASCON Class of 2026, Kano State Lecturers’ Forum, National Leather and Products Association of Nigeria, Computer Society of Nigeria and the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, which conferred a Fellowship on him.

The governor also received recognitions from the National Sustainability Achievers, Northern Youth Council, Kano Online Media and the Forum of Kano DPEs and PROs, among others.

According to the statement, Yusuf also received a copy of the book, Against All Odds, published in honour of the Lagos State Governor.

Responding, the governor thanked the organisations for the recognition, describing the honours as an encouragement for his administration to sustain its commitment to good governance and people-oriented policies.

He said the awards would further motivate his government to strengthen service delivery and implement programmes aimed at improving the welfare of residents and accelerating the state’s socio-economic development.
