Mudryk’s Doping Ban Overturned On Time-Served Basis, CAS Rules

MuChelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk is cleared to resume playing immediately after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) partially upheld his appeal, converting a four-year ban into a suspension equal to the time he has already served.

The 25-year-old Ukraine international has been sidelined since November 2024, when he was provisionally suspended by the Football Association following an adverse test for meldonium.

The FA later imposed the maximum four-year penalty, but CAS ruled on Wednesday that Mudryk’s admission of the violation and cooperation warranted a reduced sanction, allowing him to rejoin competition “with immediate effect.”

Chelsea confirmed the winger will join the club’s pre-season tour, stating they anticipate his “return to full fitness, back into the squad, and back on the pitch.”
