A former deputy governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, has emphasised that good health remains the pivotal foundation on which education, productivity and sustainable development are anchored.

Madumere, the top contender in Imo East Senatorial District, stressed that a preventive healthcare delivery system, such as free medical outreaches, helps reduce the burden of disease by encouraging early detection, timely intervention and increased public awareness.

The American-trained technocrat observed that the outreach reflected the true essence of the medical profession’s service to humanity. According to him, students who dedicate their time and knowledge to improving the lives of others are already demonstrating the qualities of responsible professionals and future leaders.

Madumere, the Owerri Zone senatorial hopeful on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), spoke at the Faculty of Health Science Students Association Medical Outreach.

He applauded the Faculty of Health Science Students’ Association (FOHSSA), Imo State University, Owerri, for organising a successful Free Health Outreach, describing the initiative as a practical demonstration of leadership through service and compassion.

The philanthropist urged the students to remain focused and study assiduously to emerge victorious in their studies, and appreciated the leadership and members of FOHSSA for taking healthcare beyond the classroom.

Prince Madumere also eulogised the wide range of services offered during the outreach, including BMI assessment, vital signs checks, HIV screening, eye screening, blood sugar testing, malaria screening, medical consultations, health education and counselling.
