The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has gone on vacation after spending more than 30 days commissioning completed projects, flagging off new ones and inspecting ongoing projects across the Federal Capital Territory.

Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, disclosed this in a post on his Facebook page on Monday, describing the minister’s break as “holiday time for Nyerisi.”

Olayinka said Wike was currently “somewhere in the world, relaxing” after an extensive period of project commissioning and inspection activities in Abuja.

In the post, Olayinka wrote, “Holiday time for Nyerisi.

“He is somewhere in the world, relaxing after spending over 30 days, commissioning projects, flagging off new ones and inspecting ongoing ones, especially those scheduled for commissioning in December and January, next year.”

According to Olayinka, particular attention was also given to projects expected to be ready for commissioning in December and January next year.

The minister’s activities have formed part of the FCT Administration’s ongoing efforts to accelerate infrastructure development in the nation’s capital.

Olayinka’s post was accompanied by photographs of Wike, with the aide using the occasion to highlight the minister’s break after what he described as more than 30 days of project-related engagements.

The announcement came as the FCT Administration continues with its infrastructure programme, with several road, transportation and other development projects at different stages of execution across Abuja.

Wike, who assumed office as FCT Minister in August 2023, has repeatedly emphasised the need to complete ongoing projects and deliver new infrastructure in the capital.
