National Futsal Super League Enters Second Phase With Zonal Tournaments

The National Futsal Super League (NFSL) is set to enter the second phase of its nationwide competition, with zonal tournaments scheduled to hold in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan and Lagos.

The development was announced on Tuesday in Abuja by the Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy 5s, Shamsudeen Tijanni Yusuf, who said the second phase would build on the success of the league’s maiden edition in Kaduna.

Yusuf said the new phase was designed to expand participation, strengthen club development and provide a competitive platform for some of Nigeria’s best futsal talents.

According to him, teams from across the country will participate in the zonal competitions, with the best sides earning qualification for the National Final.

At the National Final, the qualifying clubs will compete for the National Futsal Super League title, with the venue and date to be announced by the organisers in due course.

The NFSL said the second phase was part of its broader commitment to developing a sustainable futsal structure in Nigeria through regular competition, talent identification, capacity building and collaboration with key stakeholders.

“The National Futsal Super League remains focused on its vision of establishing Nigeria as a leading futsal nation in Africa while creating opportunities for players, coaches, referees, clubs and commercial partners,” the statement said.

The organisers added that further details on registration, competition dates, fixtures and venues would be released in the coming weeks.
