Senator Francis Fadahunsi has arrived at the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo for questioning over remarks he allegedly made in a viral video ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, arrived at the command on Wednesday afternoon following an invitation by the police.

He was accompanied by the Commissioner of Police in charge of election and security, Samuel Erale.

The senator was invited over alleged comments considered capable of threatening public peace and inciting violence during an All Progressives Congress campaign event in Ilesa.

In the viral video, Fadahunsi was alleged to have directed supporters to “kill” members of the Accord Party, triggering widespread condemnation ahead of the election.

However, the senator later clarified that the remark was political, explaining that he meant supporters should “kill Accord with votes” rather than resort to violence.
