Ganiyat Sanni’s Quest For A Bigger Role

While the hardcore politicians in Kwara are scheming for alternatives for Salihu Danladi, the APC governorship candidate in Kwara State, Ganiyat Sanni, the Vice Chairman of Isin LGA, is positioning women in the state for greater representation.

Pledging support for Danladi, women in Kwara South even tagged the event the SYD Unique Women Grassroots Mobilisation Programme in Idofian.

Their plea for better representation wasn’t only directed at the APC candidate but also at other political leaders to create more opportunities for women to participate in governance and decision-making.

From Sanni’s perspective, women had contributed significantly to society but remained underrepresented in political leadership.

Greater inclusion of women in governance, she felt, would enable them to contribute more meaningfully to the state’s development.

Sanni also commended the state government and other stakeholders for their efforts to increase women’s political participation.

Speaking on behalf of the APC, the party’s state chairman, Sunday Fagbemi, promised the women greater political inclusion, saying the present administration had made efforts to improve the status of women and youths in the state.
