The National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja, of the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL) has arrested a Chadian national, Mahadijiria Abdoulaye, who was declared wanted by authorities in Chad over her alleged involvement in the murder of Nazik Mahamat Saleh.

Abdoulaye was arrested on August 5, 2026, at Railway Quarters in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State, following an intelligence-led operation by INTERPOL NCB Abuja.

The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, who confirmed the arrest, said Abdoulaye allegedly fled to Nigeria after Saleh was tortured and killed on May 3, 2026.

According to him, the Court of Appeal in N’Djamena, Chad, subsequently issued arrest warrants for Abdoulaye and her alleged accomplice, Fatime Senoussi Mouktar, on June 22, 2026.

Iniedu added that Abdoulaye was also allegedly linked to drug trafficking activities in Chad.

He said the suspect was repatriated to N’Djamena on August 14, 2026, through Lomé, Togo, under a police cooperation agreement between Nigeria and Chad.

The repatriation, he said, was carried out in collaboration with INTERPOL NCB Abuja and their counterparts in N’Djamena to enable Abdoulaye to face justice in Chad.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, commended the officers of INTERPOL NCB Abuja for their professionalism, commitment and effective collaboration with their Chadian counterparts.

Disu said the arrest and repatriation demonstrated the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to ensuring that fugitives cannot exploit international borders to evade justice.
