The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it strongly believes that the 2023 general election will hold in all the 36 states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and the 774 local government areas of the country.
The chief press secretary to INEC chairman, Mr Rotimi Oyekanmi, who disclosed this while speaking exclusively with LEADERSHIP yesterday in Abuja said it has the assurances of the security agencies which include the armed forces, critical stakeholders and community leaders that they will do everything possible to ensure the elections hold.
According to him, “We have the assurances of the security agencies which include the armed forces, critical stakeholders, and community leaders that they will do everything possible to ensure the elections hold.
“This coming election is critical to the future of our dear country and everybody is aware of this. Expectations are high and many people will vote for the very first time.”
He, however, appealed to all aggrieved groups to dialogue and resolve their grievances amicably.
“At the same time, we want to appeal to all aggrieved groups to please come to the dialogue table and resolve their grievances amicably,” he added.
