Canada has issued invitations to 1,000 candidates in its latest Express Entry draw, giving successful applicants the opportunity to apply for permanent residence under the Canadian Experience Class.

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) draw, held on Tuesday, August 18, required candidates to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 523.

Applicants who met the required score were ranked according to their Express Entry profiles, with the first 1,000 eligible candidates receiving invitations. Where candidates had the same score at the cut-off point, those who submitted their profiles earlier were given priority.

The Canadian Experience Class is designed for skilled workers with eligible Canadian work experience and forms part of the country’s Express Entry immigration system.

Express Entry manages three federal economic immigration programmes: the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program.

Candidates are assessed using the CRS, which considers factors such as age, education, language proficiency, and work experience.

The latest round was conducted at 10:13:44 UTC, with the tie-breaking cut-off set at August 17, 2026, at 22:09:00 UTC.

The ministerial instructions signed by Canada’s Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, Lena Metlege Diab, allow invitations to be issued between August 18 and 19.
