The federal government, through the Solid Minerals Development Fund (SMDF), will hold live information sessions for prospective applicants seeking funding under its EMERGE grant programme.

The sessions, scheduled for Thursday, August 20, and Friday, August 21, 2026, are aimed at addressing questions from applicants on eligibility requirements, available funding streams and the application process.

According to an information leaflet made available to journalists, the first session, focusing on Exploration and Critical Minerals, will hold on Thursday from 12pm to 1pm, while the second session, focusing on Research and Development, is scheduled for Friday from 11am to 12pm.

The SMDF said applications for grant funding are still open and encouraged interested applicants to participate in the live sessions to obtain clarification on the programme.

The sessions will feature members of the EMERGE team, who will respond to questions from applicants and provide guidance on the requirements and procedures for accessing the grants.
