Stakeholders Hold Leadership, Strategic Engagement In Abuja

The REAL Platform has held its 2026 Leadership Conclave in Abuja, bringing together leaders and representatives from across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones for a seven-hour leadership and strategic engagement.

The gathering attracted leaders from Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, Lagos, Lafia, Jos, Enugu and Lokoja for an intensive day of leadership development, strategic conversations, organisational alignment, capacity building and discussions about the organisation’s future.

At the conclave, the founder and international director of The REAL Platform, Kunle Joe Komolafe, reflected on the organisation’s journey and recast its vision around two major expressions: People Development and Project Implementation.

He explained that the vision recasting provides greater clarity to the mandate that has driven The REAL Platform for more than two decades, with increased emphasis on ensuring that people development translates into measurable impact.

Under People Development, the organisation will continue to invest in leadership development, mentorship, capacity building, entrepreneurship, career development and platforms that equip people to discover, develop and deploy their potential.

“Project Implementation provides the avenue through which developed people, partnerships and resources are mobilised to address real needs through community-based initiatives in education, empowerment, social development and other areas of intervention”, he said.

According to him, both expressions are interconnected and central to the organisation’s continuing commitment to building people who can contribute meaningfully to society.

“We develop people, and we implement projects. We build capacity in people and create opportunities for that capacity to find expression through service and impact. Ultimately, our work must be visible in the people we develop and the difference those people make in society”, he also said.

The seven-hour Conclave also featured leadership development sessions, an organisational review, and strategic discussions on strengthening the organisation’s structure, systems, accountability, service, and execution.

KJK challenged participants to move beyond the traditional understanding of leadership as a title, position, or visibility and to embrace leadership as responsibility, service, and the capacity to deliver results.

He further stressed the importance of building an organisation where people are not merely members or attendees but active participants who understand the vision, take responsibility, and deploy their skills, talents, and resources towards its fulfilment.

“E” ents cannot become the destination. What we learn must become what we live, what we develop must become what we deploy, and what we deploy must ultimately create impact.”

The Conclave also had international participation, with leaders of The REAL Platform joining virtually from the United Kingdom, United States of America, and Canada, further connecting the organisation’s national and international expressions around its shared vision and direction.

As part of its continuing growth, the organisation is looking ahead to its programmes, community impact initiatives and the REAL Impact Summit 2027, its flagship gathering.

The 2026 Leadership Conclave concluded with leaders recommitting to the vision and returning to their respective locations with a renewed responsibility to develop people, strengthen communities, and translate the vision into measurable impact.
