The Katsina North Youth Development Awareness and Initiative (KNYDAi) has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Katsina State governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, for re-election in the 2027 general elections.
The group said it has established a strong grassroots structure across the local government areas in the Daura Zone, with more than 16,000 active members, while another figure presented at the gathering, claiming to be from the group’s portal put its membership at about 90,000.
During the gathering, the coordinator of the group, Umar Al-Jazira, said the organisation had undertaken various interventions aimed at supporting vulnerable people across the zone.
He said the group was also empowering youths through micro-enterprises, with beneficiaries expected to receive N50,000 each to establish small businesses.
According to him, KNYDAI is also planning to establish a bottled-water company as part of its efforts to create employment and support youth development in the zone.
Al-Jazira disclosed that the group had created an online portal and registered 81,727 people as part of its mobilisation structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
He said the structure would cover all the local government areas in the Daura Zone and would be used to mobilise support for the re-election of Governor Radda and President Tinubu.
The group also announced plans to establish a situation room to monitor activities during the 2027 elections.
Also speaking, the Sarkin Suda, Alhaji Yusuf Nalado, expressed happiness over the initiative, saying about 1,500 people were expected to benefit from employment opportunities created through the group.
He thanked Governor Radda for honouring the invitation and assured him of the group’s support ahead of the 2027 elections.
In his remarks at the event, Governor Radda thanked the Sarkin Fada of Daura, Alhaji Laws Sade and other stakeholders for organising the initiative, describing the structure as one capable of providing lasting support to the people.
The governor said organisations established to support vulnerable people and promote education and development would remain relevant for a long time.
“On behalf of President Tinubu, I thank you for this endorsement, and I will reach out to him,” Radda said.
The governor also reflected on the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari before Tinubu succeeded him, urging the people to support Tinubu’s re-election.
Radda thanked the people of Daura Zone for their support during the 2023 election, noting that the zone played a key role in his emergence as governor.
He assured the people that his administration would continue to support the zone and other parts of the state.
“Daura has been key in my election in 2023. I will not stop supporting the zone,” he said.
The governor further thanked stakeholders for their continued support and pledged that his administration would continue to implement programmes aimed at improving the welfare of citizens.
He prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the people and promised that the government would sustain its interventions and support for vulnerable residents.
