Kane Open Contract Extension Talks With Bayern Munich 

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has revealed that preliminary discussions regarding a contract extension at the Allianz Arena commenced last week, shortly after the club’s 5-1 Bundesliga season-opening victory over Stuttgart.

The formal negotiations were initiated in the preceding days, although the 33-year-old England captain stressed that reaching a final agreement is a complex process that will not be resolved within a matter of weeks. “They need to make sure I’m happy. They obviously need to make sure they’re happy,” Kane told the club’s official website, emphasizing that there is no urgency on either side.

Acknowledging his age, Kane recognized that this negotiation represents one of the most significant agreements of his professional career. While he expressed a clear desire to remain in Munich for the foreseeable future, he noted that both parties are approaching the matter with composure. “I’m 33. It’s probably going to be, not my last contract. But it’s a big contract for me to sign,” he stated. “There’s no panic from either side. I’m sure we’ll get to a point where both sides are happy.”

The striker’s on-field performance continues to justify the club’s eagerness to retain him. Last season, Kane netted 36 goals across 31 Bundesliga appearances, marking the third-highest single-season tally in German top-flight history, while also securing the league and cup double for Bayern. Across all competitions for both club and country, he amassed 73 goals over the campaign, including six strikes at the World Cup, where England advanced to the semi-finals.
