Bandits Displaced 200,000 S/Kaduna Residents, Sacked 245 Villages– MBF Spokesman

The Middle Belt Forum (MBF) has disclosed that more than 200,000 Southern Kaduna residents were displaced across communities in the region by bandits and terrorists.

Speaking with LEADERSHIP Sunday yesterday, MBF spokesman, Luka Binniyat, said apart from the displacement, the bandits also sacked no fewer than 245 communities and villages.

Binniyat said those affected communities cut across Kachia, Kajuru, Chikun, Kauru, Sanga among other local government areas.

He said, “Over 200,000 people from Sanga, Kachia, Kajuru,Chikun, Kauru local government areas were displaced by bandits and terrorists. Bandits also sacked over 245 communities across Southern Kaduna” Binniyat said.

Binniyat, the former publicity secretary of Southern Kaduna Peoples’ Union, (SOKAPU) said those displaced added to the number of Internally Displaced Persons in Southern Kaduna.

“The land mass of the displaced communities is about 6,000 square kilometres,” he said.

Kaduna State Police Command spokesman DSP Mansir Hassan, did not respond over the claims.
