RTFIN Restructures Women’s Wing, Ends Approval Requirement

The Director-General of Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria (RTFIN), Hon. Ahmed Bala, has announced a restructuring of the organisation’s women wing, with the zonal women leader no longer required to obtain permission from the zonal coordinator before operating.

Bala disclosed this at the North Central Women Initiative Medical Outreach, Women Empowerment, Inauguration and Award Night in Abuja.

He said the decision followed a resolution reached by the leadership the previous day, explaining that the existing arrangement had created bottlenecks for the women wing.

“So, the leadership of RELAX had to take a very drastic decision just yesterday to exclude the women wing,” Bala said.

According to him, under the previous arrangement, the zonal women leader had to seek permission from the zonal coordinator to operate.

“And it’s really, you know, it’s creating a lot of bottleneck. We have to separate the women. The women, they are autonomous, and they are taking decisions, doing things they have to do at a time,” he said.

Bala said difficult decisions were sometimes necessary to move the organisation forward.

“Taking decisions, I know it’s very difficult sometimes, but there are decisions that are important that you must take to move forward,” he added.

The announcement came during the North Central women initiative, which featured a medical outreach, women empowerment programme, inauguration and award presentation.

The programme brought together women from Nasarawa, Kogi, Niger, Benue, Kwara, Plateau and the Federal Capital Territory for medical screening and health education.

The North Central Zonal Women Leader, Hafsat Sule, said the initiative was aimed at recognising and supporting vulnerable women and women living with disabilities.

She also commended individuals, leaders, partners and organisations who supported the programme and contributed to its activities.

Among those listed for awards were the governors of the north central,Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni; Dr. Tanko Yakasai; Hon. Muhammad Abba Isa; Haj. Farida Bala; Nyesom Wike; Dr. Emma Simon; Alh. Lameen Aliyu; Hon. Moses Jikka Mc Daniel; Hon. Mrs. Mojisolaoluwa Alli Macaulay; Minister of Women Affairs, Hon. Iman Suleiman Ibrahim; Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle; and Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olaweande.

The event also provided an opportunity for RTFIN to recognise those who had supported its women-focused initiatives and efforts to promote inclusion.
