Federal Unity College In Edo Remains Shut

When LEADERSHIP visited the college, a banner displayed at the main entrance by the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) bore the inscriptions, “An Injury To One Is An Injury To All” and “No Concession of Federal Unity Colleges, No Resumption.”

Some parents who brought their children to the school were reportedly turned back, while security personnel were stationed at the entrance to prevent any breakdown of law and order.

A parent, Mr Osifo, who spoke with LEADERSHIP, kicked against the concession of the unity colleges, describing them as national heritage that should not be sold.

Osifo said the schools belonged to the nation and should be preserved for the benefit of future generations.

The same situation was observed at the Federal Technical College, Uromi, where the gates leading to the institution were locked as of the time of the visit.
