Afrobeats star Davido has won the Album of the Year award for his project 5IVE at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA).

 

The announcement was made on Tuesday via AFRIMMA’s official Instagram page. The awards ceremony and music festival took place on September 12, 2026, at Annette Strauss Square in Dallas, Texas.

Davido entered the event as the most-nominated artiste of the year, securing five nominations. His album 5IVE won the category against other nominees, including Black Sherif, Omah Lay, Asake, Tyla, and Burna Boy. In addition to the album prize, Davido received nods for Artist of the Year, Best Male West Africa, and the Crossing Boundaries With Music Award.
