Damaturu Flyover: Residents Across Yobe Hail Quality, Early Completion

Residents from different parts of Yobe State have expressed excitement over the quality and early completion of the Damaturu Flyover project, describing the infrastructure as a significant development that will ease movement, improve traffic flow and enhance the appearance of the state capital.

The residents, who spoke while reacting to the completion of the project, commended the state government under the able leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni for delivering what they described as a major infrastructure intervention within a relatively short period, adding that the project would provide lasting benefits to motorists, commuters, businesses and other residents who use the busy corridor.

A Damaturu resident, Ibrahim Ba Musa, said the completed flyover had significantly changed the outlook of the area, noting that residents had long looked forward to a capital project of such nature for a befitting state capital.

Ba Musa said the quality of the project was particularly encouraging, stressing that the infrastructure would not only address immediate traffic concerns but also serve the city for many years.

Also speaking, Damaturu resident, Mohammed Mustapha, described the completion of the flyover as a welcome development, saying it would contribute to smoother movement of people and vehicles within the state capital.

He said the speed with which the project was completed was equally encouraging, adding that residents were pleased to see a major project of such importance delivered within the expected timeframe.

Another Damaturu resident, Salamatu Mohammed, said the transformation was visible, expressing appreciation for the improved appearance of the area and the potential benefits to residents, motorists and businesses operating around the corridor.

She said the project had given the area a new outlook and expressed hope that the infrastructure would be properly maintained to ensure its sustainability.

Potiskum resident, Adamu Musale, commended the pace and quality of the project, saying its completion had generated excitement beyond the state capital.

He noted that the development would benefit not only residents of Damaturu but also people travelling to and from other parts of the state, particularly those who frequently use the route.

Similarly, Potiskum resident, Rabi Babar Habu, described the flyover as an important addition to Yobe’s infrastructure, noting that projects of such magnitude could have wider positive impact for economic activities and movement across the state.

Another Potiskum resident, Mohammed Sabon Layi, said the quality of the work was encouraging, stressing that infrastructure should not only be completed on time but also built to withstand the test of time.

From Geidam, Modu Garba Geidam said the completion of the flyover was a development that would be appreciated by residents across the state, particularly because Damaturu serves as an important administrative and commercial centre.

Also from Nguru, Mohammed Nura said the project demonstrated the impact that timely infrastructure development could have on the daily lives of citizens, particularly motorists and commuters.

The residents collectively commended the project, highlighting its potential to ease traffic congestion, improve road connectivity and support economic activities around the state capital.

They also expressed optimism that the completed flyover would contribute to the continued transformation of Damaturu into a more modern and functional urban centre.

The Damaturu Flyover is among major infrastructure interventions initiated by the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni aimed at improving the state’s road network and urban infrastructure, with residents describing its completion as a welcome development that will deliver lasting benefits to the people.
