JUST-IN: Gunmen Kidnap Plateau First Class Traditional Ruler

The paramount ruler of the Izere Nation of Jos East local government area of Plateau State, Rev. Isaac Wakili, has been kidnapped by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.

Our correspondent gathered that the first-class Monarch was kidnapped from his Palace situated in Shere District of Jos East around 3am Friday morning and taken to an unknown place.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Jos East local government council, Ezekiel Izang, who confirmed the incident to journalists via telephone interview, said the gunmen invaded the community and began shooting anything on sight before gaining access to the Palace of the monarch.

 

An eyewitness, who do not want his name mentioned, revealed that a Police Sergeant on guard at the residence of the Paramount Ruler was also shot, while a civilian security attached to the monarch was also killed in the process.

The Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Alfred Alabo, was yet to react to the incident as at the time of filing this report.
