Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission has secured 952 seats for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage, its executive secretary, Alhaji Salihu Abubakar, has said.
Abubakar said payment for the allocated seats had already been made, adding that the commission would soon send a team to Saudi Arabia to arrange hotel accommodation for intending pilgrims and engage professional caterers.
He explained that the team would also arrange the rental of tents at the religious sites of Arafat, Mina, and Muzdalifah for the pilgrims.
According to him, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) would handle airline arrangements and the transportation of pilgrims during their stay in Makkah and Madinah.
The executive secretary said the commission would commence an enlightenment and sensitisation programme for intending pilgrims within the next two months, while the uploading of pilgrims’ visa information is expected to begin soon.
He added that visa issuance is expected to commence in February 2027, with the airlift of intending pilgrims scheduled to begin in April, subject to the completion of necessary arrangements.
Abubakar expressed appreciation to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his continued support of the commission and to the relevant national commissions for their cooperation.
