Police Arrest 3 Over Theft Of Beer For Birthday Party

The police have arrested three persons for allegedly stealing a crate of beer for a birthday party in Adamawa State.
The suspects: Ibrahim Usman, Jibrilla Aliyu (J Boy) and Hammawa of Polo Ground in Damare in Yola South local government area, while Umar Dakere, Aminu Babayi, Dan Jimeta and Horange, who is at large allegedly were involved in the act to raise money for their friends’ birthday party.
The suspects confessed to having burgled a house at Yolde Pate in Yola South local government area and stolen items including a crate beer, women shoes, shirts, three television sets, a pressing stone, handsets among others.
One of the suspects, Ibrahim Usman, said they burgled the house and made away with the items.
According to him, it was one of their friends who advised them to burgle the house, saying that they collectively went and surveyed the house and discovered it was locked.

He explained that they invaded the house between 7:00 -8:00 pm and carted away some of the items and returned back to pack other items from the house the following day.

He said they sold the 55 inches of tv set to one Muhammad Umar of Sangere FUTY at the sum of N18, 000 and offered bottles of beer to two of their girlfriends.

The command’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who confirmed the arrest, said that the Commissioner of Police, Sikiru Akande, had ordered for discreet investigation into the matter.
