The state coordinator, National Youth Entrepreneurs Yobe State chapter, Alhaji Adamu Talio has described the 35% discount on shops and stalls in the newly constructed markets by the state government, as a move towards improving business activities across the state.

Talio who was speaking on the discount, said the construction of modern markets and the shop discount has clearly demonstrated the readiness of the Buni administration towards revamping economic activities across the state.

The coordinator said for businesses to prosper, there must be a market with standard shops and stalls, hence the discount will facilitate petty businesses among other entrepreneurial activities for years to come.

“You see, the market is everything for a businessman. This is what makes Kano great in the entire northern part of the country.

“Apart from the discount which is key in the improvement of business activities, the construction of these markets by His Excellency will not only rejuvenate business activities in the short or medium but in the long term.

“Look at Monday market in Maiduguri, when the shops were constructed many thought it was not a wise decision then but go and see for yourself the level of business activities there.

“Our members rely on the market for their day to day living and you can imagine the number of lives this discount will touch,” Talio emphasized.

He called on the people to continue to support the transformation of the agenda of the Buni administration adding that with improved economy, youth restiveness among other social vices will be a thing of the past in the society.

Governor Buni had in a statement issued by his director general Press Affairs and Media Mamman Mohammed last week approved a 35% subsidy on rates of shops in the newly commissioned Modern Markets to boost business activities.

The governor said the reduction in prices of the shops became necessary so as to support and encourage traders to operate in the new markets for business to thrive.
