The governorship candidates of Action Alliance (AA), Bayo Titilola-Sodo and the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Mogaji Olusegun Agboola in Oyo State have called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to rectify the errors in the released governorship list.
The two candidates whose name were omitted from the list urged the commission to address the error before the October 24 deadline.
Speaking, the former chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Titilola-Sodo said he could not even say whether his name was omitted or removed.
He said he could not say anything until after the Commission must have responded to his claim specifically.
“I have nothing to say unless INEC respond to my case specifically”, he said.
Speaking, the SDP governorship candidate, Agboola said he had challenged the commission’s claim at the Federal High Court, Ibadan.
He said he had filed an affidavit at the court as directed by the commission.
The governorship candidate who disclosed that INEC had given 24 October as deadline, said “We are waiting for INEC to rectify the error as there is no law that permitted INEC to remove or omit people’s names”.
While noting that the issue cut across political parties and states, he said “it was a mess”.
