In recognition of his tremendous contributions to nation-building, youth engagement and service to humanity, a coalition of students from tertiary institutions in Northern Nigeria, National Association of Northern Nigerian Students (NANNS) has honoured an Abuja-based public relations practitioner and CEO of Amity Global Network, Mr Alex Nwankwo, with the award of “Icon of Hope”.

The students body praised Mr Nwankwo popularly known as AlexReports for his diligence and astuteness, dedication to duty, fairness, integrity and the exemplary lifestyle he has showcased to the younger generation.

The leader of a delegation who presented the award in Abuja recently and the national director of programmes, Bayero University Kano, Comrade Bashir Nasir said the student body has admired Mr Nwankwo and the ways he has brought vigour in excellent service delivery by x-raying those who have done well in their various endeavours thereby spurring others to excellent performance.

Nasir said the awardee is a symbol of hope that the Nigerian society still has torchbearers who can turn around the country’s fortune in the nearest future.

While appreciating NANNS for the honour, the public relations professional pledged to continually toe the path of honesty and integrity while delivering service to humanity.

He assured that he would use his position to amplify the plight of Nigerian students to attract the needed attention in order to make their academic pursuit even easier and less cumbersome.

He said his organisation, Amity Global Network, would continue to be a mouthpiece for excellence and selflessness among those who have committedly served the Nigerian masses with vigour and pride.

Nwankwo charged the students to remain critical stakeholders in building the country and shun social vices.

According to him, Amity Global Network in partnership with some governors from Northern Nigeria, non-governmental organisations and some advocates are championing an anti-drug campaign in the country, urging the students to be part of the move.

The deputy head of operations, Amity Global Network, Benjamin Nneka praised the students’ body for recognising the CEO of the organisation.
