The Directorate of Christian Religious Affairs of the City Boy Movement, led by Hon. Belusochukwu Enwere, has engaged Christian leaders in Yola, Adamawa and Jalingo, Taraba State, as part of efforts to mobilise support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
The meeting brought together leaders of various Christian denominations, youths, women and the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to canvass support for the president and promote peaceful political participation ahead of the polls.
The engagement, according to the organisers, aimed to galvanise votes for Tinubu’s re-election while sensitising Christian communities to the intentions and programmes of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration.
The directorate also sought to encourage participants to take the message of the administration’s policies and initiatives to their respective churches and communities, with a view to strengthening grassroots awareness and support for the president.
Enwere, who led the delegation, emphasised the importance of engaging religious leaders and community stakeholders in political mobilisation, given their influence in shaping opinions and encouraging civic participation among their followers.
The meeting also focused on promoting peaceful participation in the electoral process, with participants encouraged to mobilise voters without resorting to violence, intimidation, or actions that could disrupt public peace.
The organisers stressed the need for political engagement to be conducted through dialogue, persuasion and issue-based campaigns, urging Christian leaders and their communities to exercise their democratic rights responsibly.
The initiative forms part of the City Boy Movement’s broader efforts to expand its grassroots mobilisation and build support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition across different segments of the country.
By engaging Christian leaders, women, and youth in Adamawa State, the directorate seeks to strengthen its outreach to faith-based communities and encourage their active participation in the democratic process.
The meeting comes as political activities and mobilisation efforts gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, with political groups and support organisations seeking to consolidate their bases and persuade voters to support their preferred candidates.
The organisers expressed optimism that sustained engagement with religious and community leaders would help communicate the administration’s intentions to the grassroots and encourage peaceful electoral participation.
They maintained that the ultimate objective was to secure increased support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid while promoting unity, tolerance and non-violent political engagement among residents of Adamawa and Taraba States.
