Kebbi Govt Empowers 58,000 Women With N2.4bn

Kebbi State government has expended N2.4 billion to empower 58,000 women across the 21 local government areas of the state under the Nigeria For Women Project (NFWP).

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu made this known during the flag-off of the National Women’s Economic Empowerment Policy Dialogue, sub-national road show for the northwest held at presidential lodge in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.

Represented by the secretary to the state government (SSG),  Babale Umar Yauri,  Bagudu added that the state had also received another three billion naira for KEBBI-CAREs social intervention Policy scheme of which more than 50 percent of the beneficiaries were Women whose were drawn across the twenty one local government areas of the state.

Bagudu however commended his wife, Dr Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu for uniting and assisting women in the state especially on flag-off campaign of APC rural women supporters in Argungu local government area.

He also expressed his gratitude to the minister for women affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen who was in the state for commissioning of women programmes.
