A coalition of All Progressives Congress (APC) support groups has called on the party’s national leadership to review the candidacy of Toyin Okoro Zacheaus for Ekiti South Federal Constituency I, pending consideration of a petition submitted to the relevant authorities.
The coalition also urged the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to examine the issues raised in the petition.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, the coalition’s National Secretary, Chidiebere Osundu, said the group had petitioned the APC national leadership and the party’s Ekiti South screening committee in May 2026 before subsequently approaching the ICPC.
He said copies of the petition had also been sent to the Department of State Services (DSS), the Inspector-General of Police, the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Code of Conduct Bureau.
According to the coalition, the petition raises concerns about the aspirant’s eligibility, public service status and possible conflicts of interest, which it wants the relevant authorities to examine.
Osundu said the group was seeking clarification on the issues before the party concluded the nomination process. He added that its intervention was intended to draw the attention of the party’s leadership and relevant agencies to the petition.
The coalition called on the APC leadership to consider the matter and urged the ICPC to handle the petition in accordance with its mandate.
