Goverorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Abia State, High Chief Ikechi Emenike has been likened to the late premier of defunct Eastern Region, Dr. Michael Okpara  in vision and dream for the state.

Udumeze of Ohafia Kingdom, Prof E. U. L Imaga stated this yesterday when Ezeogo of the 26 communities in Ohafia Clan in Ohafia local government area of the state hosted Emenike in the monarch’s palace in Elu Ohafia.

“I am convinced that he would also have similar passion and drive that motivated the late governor of old Old Imo State, Chief Sam Mbakwe which led to the transformation of the state within four years,” he said.

The monarch, represented by Engr. Uma Agbai Olugu, stated this while responding to Emenike, saying from his presentation, they were convinced that if given the opportunity, he will deliver his promises.

The Ezeohamoha said the governorship hopeful had touched the issues and areas of life that have long been their major challenges which include insecurity, infrastructure decay and youth unemployment.

He decried the level of poverty and deprivation successive administrations in the state have subjected the royal fathers including irregular and underpayment of their allowances.

The academic, therefore, assured the governorship hopeful that they will take his campaign promises to their domains, adding that they have also resolved to vote for a candidate with intergrity for the office.

Addressing them earlier, Emenike, who later addressed a campaign rally at Collins Memorial School in the community noted that  if elected he would move the state to the fast lane within record time.

He appealed to the royal fathers to take a cue from the counterpart in other parts of the country to vote and encourage their subjects to do same, saying it is the only way to change the narrative of the state.

Emenike, who assured that as part of his infrastructure develoment agenda, every motorable road in the state would be tarred, appealed to them to vote for candidates of the party to remove the state from opposition to the government at the centre

The development economist, therefore, appealed to them to go through his manifesto, which he said is 70 percent centered on youth to note what he intends to deliver with their timeframe clearly indicated.
