In his evidence, Abubakar told the court that he had been practicing as a urologist for over 30 years and had been teaching some urology courses at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital for 13 years.

He said he retired from public service in 2018 but is still active in practice in the human body, saying the eye, nose and ear are end action nerves as well as testicles which are vital organs.

Abubakar said if there was prolonged pressure on the end nerves, feelings may change and the release of adrenaline falls over stimulation of the vagus nerve, which may cause fright, fight and flight.

“The testicle is more sensitive because it has sensory nerves when it is pulled, fright, fight and flight will occur and cause accidents, inflammation problems and may lead to erectile dysfunction and urinary problems.

“The blood pressure will fall, there will be low levels of oxygen in the brain and the patient may faint or get shocked, so in order to survive the action you try to fight the situation,” he said.

The prosecution team, led by the director of public prosecution (DPP) Aisha Mahmoud prayed the court to order the defence to supply them with the list of all witnesses it intends to call as well as a medical dictionary to enable the prosecution conduct a proper cross examination.

The trial judge, Justice Sanusi Ado Ma’aji, ordered the defence counsel to furnish the prosecution as prayed.

The defendant earlier told the court that the deceased grabbed his genitals to the living room, an action that made him stab her.

Justice Ma’aji, ordered the defense counsel to furnish the prosecution with their witness list and medical dictionary.

While under cross examination, Quarong told the court what transferred between him and Ummulkhusum.

Quarong is standing trial on the allegations of killing Ummukulsum Sani Buhari on September 16, 2022.

He earlier pleaded not guilty to the charge, which according to the prosecution contravened section 221 of Penal Code Law, punishable with death under the same law.

Justice Ma’aji adjourned the case to April 6, 2023, for cross-examination and continuation of defence.
