Former assistant secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and publisher of Kakaki Reporters, Midat Joseph, has said that the recently conducted gubernatorial election in Kaduna State was a charade, stating that different election results were uploaded in the INEC Election Result Viewing portal.

Midat said INEC should within one week, upload the real results of the Kaduna gubernatorial election in the IReV portal or risk litigation.

At a press conference in Abuja, Midat said the votes did not reflect what they voted for in the IReV portal adding that the certified copy with political parties’ agents is entirely different from what the commission uploaded.

Midat, who also called for the prosecution of the perpetrators of such an act, insisted that INEC should review the entire results of the election in Kaduna State.

“The commission should review the results because it is the INEC staff that are aiding politicians to rig the elections,” Midat said adding that in Makera ward of Kaduna South local government, soldiers took over the collation centre and journalists were prevented from entering the collation centre.

“This country must be salvaged; Nigeria must be saved because many people may not want to go out to vote if this kind of injustice is allowed to stand. This crime cannot be allowed to go freely. If such injustice is not addressed, I will go to court to ensure that those who perpetrated such evil are prosecuted,” Midat said.
