An All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain in Niger State, Mohammed Saidu Etsu, has congratulated the State’s governor-elect, Umar Mohammed Bago, on his victory in the just-concluded governorship election held on Saturday, March 18, 2023.
Etsu in a statement said Bago’s victory was for all Nigerlites irrespective of political affiliations as it showed that the hand of the Almighty Allah is truly on the state.
He saidm “your emergence is a major pointer that politics today is tilting towards meritocracy and not god-fatherism.
“You contested the election against several qualified fellow sons of Niger State whom I am confident also have the best interest of Niger State at heart in offering up themselves for service and I believe they will continue to put the interest of our State first in all their actions.
“Your campaign slogan of #StrongerTogether is one which encapsulates the whole yearning of the masses and we expect that you will hit the ground running as you face this daunting task,” he said.
Etsu further said the task ahead was enormous but the fact that Bago has goodwill from across board should make the task a bit easy for him saying “and we hope that you will use this goodwill to make Nigerlites proud of you.”
“Let your word be your bond. Let there be a positive difference seen and felt across the state. The best way to thank the Nigerlites for this mandate is by giving it your best shot and delivering on your campaign promises.
“I want to respectfully remind you that you are here to represent Niger youths . We urge you to dare to be different. A lot of trust and confidence has been bestowed upon you and we expect that you do not disappoint.
“Once again, Congratulations Your Excellency and thanks for your tenacity, steadfastness and consistent courage.
“The work starts now!!!! It’s time to write your name in gold,” he stated.
