Nigerians in diaspora are persistently distinguishing themselves. They seem to have the midas touch without any intention to relegate their intellectual prowess though.

Dr Rommel Asagwara L, a US-based aesthetician and founder of Dream Weight Botox Clinic, is one who has immensely distinguished himself. He was born in Lagos, Nigeria, before seeking greener pastures abroad.

Rommel Asagwara stands tall in his career as a highly experienced cosmetologist. Consistently, he stresses the essence of beauty and why especially women, are always willing to pay the price for a glowing and fresh skin, and achieve the body they so desire. According to him, appearance to women is beyond make-up or Gucci designers.

The Dream Weight Botox Clinic, which has centres in Atlanta, Georgia, and Ridgeland in Mississippi, managed by Rommel Asagwara, has become the go-to place for many Americans, for their cosmetic and relaxing skin treatments on the face and body.

Dr Rommel Asagwara provides various treatments to improve skin and medically help his patients enhance their body, using makeup application, scalp, facial treatments, as well as procedures to remove excess skin or fat from the body.

To his patients, he is more than their cosmetologist. His friendly disposition and dedication to ensure they reach their goal, to which he believes is critical to their confidence and how they are perceived, are key to them.

Rommel Asagwara believes his foray into medical aesthetics is more of a calling than a professional decision he stumbled upon. The physician explained  that the satisfaction from his clients gives him unspeakable joy.

“The joy I get from people when I work for them: ‘You’ve changed my life, you’ve made things easier for me.’ It is that self confidence they get again, it’s their health they regain. It’s their way their husbands or wives would look at them. Those things matter and for me, it is the reason I decided to go into medicine to help people,” he said.

His academic training is as outstanding as his career. He studied French language at the University of Strasbourg between 2004 and 2007, before bagging Doctor of Medicine at the same institution 2007 and 2014. Dr Rommel Asagwara possesses a resume of impressive work experience. In 2014, he worked as a Resident Physician at the Hospital La Pitie Salpetriere and Sud Francilien Hospital alongside other doctors, both in the in-patient unit and the Emergecy Room. He was a tutor to the medical students rotating through the department.

In 2016, he worked full-time at Kansas, Missouri Area as a resident physician and two later, moved to University of  Kandas Medical Centre as a chief resident between 2018 and 2019. Later in 2019, he became the Emergency Physician at Bolivar Medical Centre, and in 2020, he functioned in the same duty at Copiah County Medical Centre, before establishing his own clinic.

Rommel Asagwara is a hot property and recognised as an expert in the US. He holds certification in Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) by the American Academy of Pediatrics, Medical License Graduate Medical Education by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts and Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO), by the American Academy of Family Physicians; all in 2016.

Rommel Asagwara’s reputation preceeds him. In 2016, he became a member of American Board of Family Medicine, and in the same year, he also became member of American Association of Family Physicians. Three years later, he became a member of American Board of Obesity Medicine.
