Police in Niger State have commenced investigation into the death of a married woman at the residence of a deputy zonal commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in the state.
LEADERSHIP Sunday findings revealed that the commander is being detained by the police.
It was learnt that he was arrested by men of the Tudun-wada police division sequel to a report by a medical doctor in one private hospital in Tunga Minna on the strange circumstance the woman died.
Sources said the woman identified as Christiana was married and stayed with her family in Gbeganu area of Minna but was allegedly having an extra marital affair with the NDLEA commandant.
It was gathered that she was a regular visitor to the NDLEA officer’s house and died in his house along Bay Clinic road in Tunga Minna. She was already dead before being taken to a private hospital where it was confirmed by a doctor who reported the case to the police.
“The doctor raised the alarm because the woman who was married to one Mr Peter, a resident of Gbeganu area of Minna, was rushed to the hospital in her pant and brassier while her other clothes were later discovered in the commandant’s room,” a source said.
Police spokesman Wasiu Abiodun confirmed the incident to LEADERSHIP but said investigation was still ongoing and when completed the suspect would be charged to court.
