The reinstated speaker of the Plateau House of Assembly, Hon Nuhu Ayuba Abok has resumed office after the judgement of the state high court on Monday which ruled in his favour.
Abok drove into the Assembly complex a few minutes to 10am yesterday and headed straight to the speaker’s office.
Some lawmakers were seen with the speaker in his office and there were indications that the House may sit in plenary.
It was gathered that the clerk of the Assembly and the commissioner of police had been served with the orders of the court reinstating Abok as speaker.
Mr Chuwang Paul, the counsel to Gwottson Fom, member representing Jos South state constituency and Tyem Pirfa Jinfa, member representing Langtang North North Constituency who were claimant in the matter confirmed that the clerk and the CP were served with the order of court on Monday.
Justice Musa of the state high court reinstated Abok as the speaker while granting an injunction restraining the current speaker, Yakubu Sanda, from parading himself as the occupant of the office.
Abok told newsmen after assuming office that he was grateful to the security agencies and the general public for their support.
He called on Sanda representing Pengana state constituency to join him and other members of the legislature to commence sitting.
