They also entered Sabon-Gari in Beji where one Manir was shot dead and kidnapped one Alhaji Hassan Gusasse, and inflicted matchet cuts on the chairman Gan-Mamman of Miyeti Allah.

Abiodun stated further that following the unfortunate incidents in Beji and environs, police operatives attached to FIB tactical squad arrested the two suspects based on a tip-off.

He said those arrested in connection with the attacks were Risku Suleiman 34 years old and Haruna Umar 20 years.

“He confessed further that he conspired with his friend, one Umar Awara, from Lokoja, who invited eight others from Zamfara State as thus: Idrisu, Shadai, Yeli, Yusuf and others now at large, with the said Haruna Umar,” Abiodun said.

The police spokesman said the suspect confessed that the syndicate is responsible for the death of the village head, and that N1.5million ransom was collected for the release of the daughter recently, while the same amount was also collected for the release of Alhaji Hassan Gusasse.
