The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Katsina State launched a special enlightenment campaign on safety consciousness for motorists ahead of the Sallah celebration.

The Corps Marshall of FRSC, Dauda Ali Biu, obliged drivers and the general public to be safety conscious and obey all traffic rules and regulations during the period.

Speaking through the State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Ibrahim Maiyaki Bazama, at the launch of the 2023 Eid-El-Fitr (Sallah) Special Enlightenment Rally in Kofar Guga NURTW Motor Park, Biu said the programme tagged: “Drive Safe to Drive in Another Sallah,” has become paramount, especially in the festive period as this.

He said, “It’s only an individual who is alive that will drive in this Sallah and drive in another Sallah.

“The rules are simple: avoid overloading, over speeding, avoid dangerous driving and be sure that your vehicles have good tyres and all other necessary things in the interest of individuals and groups that ply the roads.

“I want to make this point clear to our drivers and of course, passengers: the responsibility of driving safely on our roads does not only lies in the hands of drivers. As passengers, you have a role to play; your role is also critical for your safe arrival at your destinations.”

He then enjoined passengers to advise reckless drivers against dangerous driving and report such drivers to any uniformed personnel on the way or at their destinations.
