Abuja Training Pitch Wears New Look

Work has reached advanced stage on the re-grassing of the Practice Pitch 1 of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, which started last month.

Afrikings Homes adopted the Practice Pitch 1 with the intention of completing the job before the tenure of the current administration expires.

The ongoing work is under the Adopt-A-Pitch initiative of Sports Minister Sunday Dare and the plan is hand over to the ministry after which the company (Afrikings Homes Ltd) will be responsible for its maintenance for two years.

The company gave a promise of eight weeks to finish the work but when our correspondent visited the Moshood Abiola Stadium, it was observed that Afrikings might hand over the pitch ahead of the scheduled time.

Excited Chairman of Afrikings Homes, Ltd, Kingsley Awodi, who assured from the start that the company would deliver a quality work on Wednesday expressed delight about the progress made at the Practice Pitch I of the Moshood Abiola Stadium.

“We are really proud of the pace of work and we just have to finish up as promised. This is just to show who efficient our organization is in terms of delivery.

“Many more work will be done in the weeks ahead to further prove what we can do to the public. We decided to embrace the adopt initiative of the sports ministry because it would boost infrastructural growth in the sports sector,” Awodi said.
