A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Mrs Clara Chibuzor-Ciroma, has said that corrective economic policies such as those being embarked upon by President Bola Tinubu were creating momentary hardship for the people.
Ciroma stated this yesterday when she visited Abia State secretariat of the party in Umuahia to identify with both the leadership and the members.
“There’s no doubt that we’re all going through harsh and severe economic challenges caused by the policies, but the good thing is that they’re all for our good,” she said.
She noted that, as a transformational leader, there is no way President Tinubu would choose to unleash hardship on the people but is vigorously rejigging the economy to save it from total collapse.
The Amuda Umunneochi-born party chieftain, who is married to Hon Joseph Ciroma of Kaduna State, argued that instead of criticising the policies, Nigerians should rally round the president to ensure that the policies succeed.
“President Tinubu is working very hard to ensure that the development we have been clamouring for in this country over the years come to pass. He is really a performing leader.
She expressed confidence in the leadership of the chapter under Dr Kingsley Ononogbu, describing him as a man of honour, integrity and passion for excellence in service.
Introducing her earlier, Ononogbu said Ciroma had been a registered member of the party since 2022, adding that “she came to fraternise and exchange ideas with the chapter of her birthplace.”
Ononogbu, who later handed the chieftain a bunch of broom, the party’s symbol, assured her of the chapter’s support wherever she might be as their beloved daughter.
